What is the United Reformed Church?

A booklet (click here) is available exploring the traditions and ways of the United Reformed Church. It is based on the Statement concerning the Nature, Faith and Order of the United Reformed Church.

About our Fellowship in Bishop’s Stortford?

Our church is part of the United Reformed Church (URC). The URC stands in the historic Reformed tradition, whose members make up the largest single strand of Protestantism-with more than 70 million members world-wide. Our church has approximately 60 members and others who regularly attend worship.

Our fellowship is led by an elected group of Elders who have the responsibility for spiritual leadership and oversight of church life. Our Elders are in turn supported by many in our church family who use their various gifts to attend to matters spiritual and pastoral, material and financial.

We rejoice in our buildings, our lovely church (the current building was built in 1860 and extended and modernised in 2000 and refurbished in 2012/3) and our extensive church halls. Both buildings and most rooms are available to let.

Further events take place throughout the year.
